Panayotis Georgiopoulos

Panayotis grew up in Athens, Greece. He graduated from National Technical University of Athens in 1997 and the following year he pursued a doctoral degree at the University of Michigan, in Ann Arbor. While pursuing his studies, he worked for the US Army and General Motors. Later in 2014, the University of Michigan granted him the alumni merit award, a prestigious honor that very few graduates get each year.

After obtaining his doctoral degree he worked for Dell in US as Strategic Planner, focusing on large-scale planning and offshoring. Then in 2006, he moved to Teleperformance as a Senior Manager running end-to-end customer operations of a fixed telecommunications client. In 2008, Panayotis did a career restart and joined McKinsey & Company as an experienced hire. During his tenure in McKinsey he worked in banking, telecom, healthcare and the public sector both in Greece and abroad. 

Vodafone recruited Panayotis in 2011 as Head of Strategy. He initiated multiple waves of a very successful cost optimization program. Panayotis drove also two seminal M&A transactions, a joint venture with WIND Hellas sharing network infrastructure as well as the acquisition of a fixed provider – HellasOnline – that turned Vodafone Greece into an integrated telecoms player. 

In 2014, Panayotis was appointed Commercial Operations Director having under his responsibility Digital, Customer Experience, Telesales and Customer Service for a total of 2.600 employees. In terms of Digital, the application which was developed hit the 2nd best penetration across Vodafone Group and the website was awarded the highly acclaimed Webby award with 13K contestants across 70 countries. In terms of Customer Experience, NPS hit historical highs. Finally, a fixed sales acceleration program took place growing in large numbers the fixed customer base.

In 2020, Panayotis joined WIND Hellas as Business Segment Executive Director, where he grew substantially the fixed segment, setup an ICT division and rallied NPS. 

As of April 1st, 2021 Panayotis joined Forthnet S.A. as CEO.
